Couple dies in road accident

A couple riding on a two-wheeler died in a road accident on Katraj Kondhwa Road in Pune on Friday morning, said officials.

The deceased have been identified as Dnyaneshwar Walmik Lavande (50) and his wife Usha (45), residents of Baner, said police.

According to investigators, the couple was travelling from Baner to a Purandar village to attend a ritual, when they met with the accident around 7.30 am on Friday. They were fatally hit by an unidentified vehicle near RMD School in Kondhwa Budruk, said an officer.

On being informed, a Pune City Police team reached the spot and took the bodies to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
