Amplify Mindware PGDM students Saurabh and Niki are winners of the quiz contest in the On-Campus annual event of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Pune Deccan Chapter. The students were guided by professors Dilip Thosar and Prashant Hinduja of Bharati Vidyapeeth,the Amplify Department of Information Technology & Management (BVU-DITM). It was a national level conference with a special track for student and professors of Engineering and Management colleges. The senior industry leaders interacted with the academic community,which,focused on the domain of project management. As a part of a continuing drive towards cultivating project management know-how among college students,the academic track had panel discussions on Project Management best practices,a technical paper-writing competition and a quiz contest.

Winning deals
Quantum Infotrainers and Consultants Pvt Ltd will be organising a two day workshop by Pratik Surana,called Win that Deal which deals with sharpening one’s negotiation skills. The workshop will be held on February 6 and 7 and will aim at helping participants to understand the importance of negotiations as a skill,and train them on tools and techniques of the same. It will be helpful for practicing managers in sales/purchase,HR or recruiting managers and the likes. The participants will get an in-depth practical knowledge about the process of negotiation

Success bash
The weekend at One-the lounge in Koregaon Park saw the start of a new beginning. The occasion was a fate bash to mark the tie-up between Indian institute of Aeronautical and Information Technology (IIAEIT) and the Beyond Group. Anshul Sharma and Parag Mate,Chairman of their respective groups,were present at the bash. Anil Nayar,Sachin Prasad,Guru Dutta,Nives Lisenga,Arvind Rajguru were amongst the others present. Also DJ Ayesha played some hip-hop and hollywood numbers to beguile the guests.

Peeping into history
The Abasaheb Garware College recently organised a national level seminar on the subject,New Approaches to Maratha History. The chief guest for the occasion Shahu Maharaj of Kolapur,said,”The need for organising this seminar was felt because over the last few decades history has been seen from different viewpoints by different historians. It is about time that they view history from a new approach.” The guests for the event were,Rambhau Kirdak,director of higher education-Maharashtra,Pandit Vidya Sagar,director BCUD,University of Pune and NandKumar Nikam dean-faculty of Mental,Moral and Social Sciences,University of Pune. Prof. K Gupta of Mohanlal Sukhdiya University of Udaipur was the keynote speaker for the event. He spoke about the Thikana Records of Rajasthan. The other speakers present for the event were Prof Varsha Shirgaonkar,HOD Dept of History,SNDT Mumbai University who spoke about histographical trends in Maratha History.

DES College kicks off IndraDhanush
Law-Experts like Mahatma Gandhi,Pandit Nehru led the movement of freedom. Now the law-experts should lead the social movements,’ said advocate Ram Jethmalani on the occasion of the inauguration of IndraDhanush and DUM the annual gathering of the D.E.S. Law College. Deccan Education Society’s chairman Ajit Patwardhan,secretary Dr Shrikrushna Kanetkar,principal Dr Rohini Honap,student’s representative Pramod Jadhav were present on the occasion. He also urged law students to have a general all round knowledge of other fields,which would go a long way in contributing towards their success.
