Sale of forms for admissions to junior colleges (Class XI) in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad will start from Wednesday.
Officials said this time around a new set of forms will be made available to students.
We have adopted a pattern that resembles online forms. Instead of writing in words, students will have to fill up the codes in the columns, said Suman Shinde,Deputy Director of Education,Pune Division.
Shinde said the admission time table has been circulated among the principals.
We have lined up various counselling sessions for students until June 14. We have also formed various committees, including grievance redressal committee and marks normalisation committee, for smooth Common Admission Process (CAP), added Shinde.
Shinde said that adopting an online pattern for regular forms is a way to spread awareness among students about the actual online forms.
Last year,we had sent a proposal seeking to make the entire admission process online. We will again send a proposal this year. Once the government gives the nod,we will design awareness programmes for students and parents, said Shinde.
In the first phase of CAP,the acceptance of admission forms at the designated 24 centres will start from June 16. While students from non-state boards like CBSE and ICSE can purchase forms from any college, they will have to submit forms at Fergusson College as per the CAP schedule.
We have deputed coordinators who will help in the normalisation procedure of marks, said Shinde.
Meanwhile, the admissions to senior colleges in the city have started from June1. Students will have to log into individual college websites for information . The cut-off may come down as students have scored less this year. But the cut-off for non-Maharashtra domicile students will be high in all courses, said PM Pawar,Vice Principal,Fergusson College.
