Union Bank of India was honoured with two prizes under the Reserve Bank Rajbhasha Shield Competition 2010-11,introduced by RBI for promotional use of Hindi in public sector banks/financial institutions.

Union Bank of India was honoured with two prizes under the Reserve Bank Rajbhasha Shield Competition 2010-11,introduced by RBI for promotional use of Hindi in public sector banks/financial institutions. The awards were given away by RBI Governor Dr D Subbarao at a function recently,according a bank press release. Union Bank of India bagged prize for excellent performance in linguistic regions ‘B’ & ‘C’ and another for linguistic region ‘A’. The award was received by D Sarkar,CMD,Union Bank of India. S K Jain,Executive Director,D K Jain,General Manager and Arun Srivastava,A G M (Rajbhasha) were also present on the occasion. The bank’s house journal Union Dhara also bagged third prize in bilingual house hournal category.

Book on Sule’s social initiatives released

A book titled Kartutvashalini that documents the social initiatives undertaken by MP Supriya Sule’s was released on her birthday on Saturday.The book has been sponsored by Shivlal Bhosale,president of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard Traders’ Association and was published by founder-president of Symbiosis S B Mujumdar. “All politicians are not same. Supriya has made some valuable contributions for the upliftment of women and youth,” said Majumdar. The book focuses on Rashtrawadi Yuvati Congress that was launched by Sule a few days ago to channelise women under NCP fold. Sule was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2006.

Metro presentation for public awareness

Several citizens’ groups in the city have prepared a Pune Metro presentation for public awareness and information regarding viability,feasibility,utility and impacts of DMRC’s Pune Metro plan.
