The Anti-Corruption Bureau Tuesday arrested an assistant conservator of forests,Junnar,for accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a truck driver carrying wood. Dattaji Bhinaji Bhalerao allegedly accepted the bribe from the truck driver and was caught red-handed when the police acted on a tip-off from Amar Rangnath Muluk,27. The police said he is a wood trader and his truck load was stopped by Bhalerao. He allegedly asked for Rs 50,000 in cash and a monthly payment of Rs 8,000. Muluk then complained to the ACB.

Three killed in Bhor accident

Three persons were killed and 10 injured in an accident involving a private traveller vehicle and a state transport bus collided head on Tuesday. The mishap took place around 6 pm on the Bhor-Kapurhol highway near Kikwi bridge. The driver of the private jeep Goraksh Gole,24,Parvati Dharmu Katkar,50,and Jagannath Bandal,65,died on the spot. The injured have been admitted to nearby district and private hospitals. The commuters were returning after finishing the weekly market in Bhor. The bus was travelling from Pune to Bhor. The police have registered a case against the bus driver Deepak Ananda Katkar,35.
