Credai team meets CM,opposes cess
Members of Credai,Maharashtra,recently met CM Prithviraj Chavan and Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat to discuss the collection of 1% additional cess by stamp duty on documents registered from April 1. The builders association also pointed out this would put additional burden on flat purchasers. The government has recently issued a notification for collection of cess. Post this notification,the cess is being collected not only from new documents registered,but also on conveyance deeds as they were not registered earlier by old housing societies. During the course of discussion,the CM assured Credai members he would look into the matter and reconsider the decision to levy additional cess on documents such as conveyance deed and second sale of flats.

National Technology Day at HEMRL
High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) celebrated National Technology Day Tuesday. A R Vaidya,General Manager,Bharat Electronics Ltd. Pashan,Pune, presided over the function. Vaidya delivered a lecture on Laser Guided Ammunitions and its importance. B Bhattacharya,Director HEMRL gave a presentation on propellant technology developed by HEMRL for missile programmes and emphasised on production technology to be developed by HEMRL to meet the future demands in defence sector.
