With more people opting to take out their four-wheelers on Thursday, intermittent rains coupled with potholes and waterlogging led to traffic snarls in various parts of the city.
As per the information given by the traffic control room to its branches in the city, traffic jams were reported from Sus Khind, Karve Road, Jangli Maharaj Road, Harris Bridge and University Square.
The congestion eased in the afternoon as the number of vehicles reduced.
But in the evening, people again faced a harrowing time.
The traffic congestion on the Harris Bridge was one of the worst on Thursday, said a personnel from Khadki traffic division.
On Thursday evening, slow-moving traffic was reported in Lulla Nagar, JM Road and Airport Road.
The duty officer at the city traffic control room said though the traffic jams on Thursday were not as bad as the ones on Wednesday, the snarls were primarily caused by intermittent rains, potholes on roads, some non-functioning traffic signals and more people opting for four-wheelers due to the rainy season.
