RTO to felicitate safe drivers
As part of the 21st Road Safety Week (RSW) celebrations,the Regional Transport Office (RTO) is going to felicitate a number of drivers in the city who have not caused any road accident so far.This will take place on Thursday as a concluding function of the RSW. Those interested,should send their names to Assistant RTO A A Khan by 3 pm on Wednesday,along with the recommendation letter by organisations or elected members,affidavit,Xerox copies of the license. A committee appointed for this purpose,will select the candidates,who will be awarded by State Transport Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil on Thursday.
Khandekar elected
Shivaji Khandekar,secretary of Pune District Secondary School Non-teaching Staff Organisation has been elected as divisional secretary of the Maharashtra State Non-teaching Staff Corporation. N R Gawali has been elected as the president of the corporation in the recently held elections.
Photography exhibition from Jan 6
Shutterbugs photography club and ICGC institute have arranged a photography exhibition at Balgandharva Art Gallery from January 6 to 9. This years theme is wildlife and nature. Bharat Bhushan,dean,academics and secretary of YASHADA will formally inaugurate the exhibition on Friday. The exhibition will remain open for all from 9 am to 8 pm.
NAAC awards A grade to BMCC
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) recently awarded A grade to Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC). The peer team of NAAC under the chairmanship of former vice chancellor of Rajasthan University B P Bhatnagar visited the college between December 21 to 23,2009. The team had detailed meetings before awarding grade, says the press note issued by the college.
