For the smooth implementation of the schemes and to resolve pending issues,the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Pune,organised the second open house session in the series on Provident Fund,Labour and Industrial Safety and Health. Over 80 participants from across the industry mainly consisting of HR,legal and finance professionals were present for the session.
In his introductory remarks,Pruthvish Dave,convenor,CII Pune-HR Panel and vice president- corporate planning and HRD,ThyssenKrupp Industries,talked about the role of employers which is pivotal to the success of any scheme. Be it implementation,registration of factories/ establishments,registration of employees,regular payment of contribution,facilitating inspections and timely action to ensure steady flow of benefits to the employees schemes employees has a key role to play,
Ashok Bhosle,regional provident fund commissioner,in-charge compliance and recovery,briefed participants on latest amendments and special provisions made. He also informed members about Social Security Act signed by Government of India with Belgium,France,Switzerland,Germany and Luxembourg. A social security agreement is a bi-lateral instrument to protect the interests of the workers in the host country. T G Cholake,additional commissioner of labour said welcomed the suggestions from industry for smoothing the procedures of various rules and regulations pertaining to Labour.
