Chief of Air Staff to be Reviewing Officer for Passing Out Parade of 147th course at NDA

(File) THE CHIEF of Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh will be the Reviewing Officer for the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 147th course — the Autumn Term of 2024 — of the National Defence Academy (NDA) on November 30, defence officials in Pune said on Thursday.
The POP marks the culmination of rigorous three-year-long training at the NDA. As the Reviewing Officer of the parade, the CAS, himself an alumnus of the academy, will inspect the cadets lined up for their final parade. He will address the passing-out cadets and ceremonially pin medals on those who have earned top honours.

Each year, India’s premier triservices academy witnesses the graduation and passing out of two batches of cadets. Situated amidst the scenic foothills of the Western Ghats in Maharashtra, the NDA is often hailed as the cradle of military leadership.
Upon completing their three-year training at the NDA, the cadets proceed to their respective armed forces’ academies for an additional year of pre-commissioning training. This includes the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Kerala; the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun for the Army; and the Air Force Academy at Dundigal.
In a historic move, June 2022 saw the NDA admit its first batch of women cadets. These women cadets are part of the 148th course, and will graduate in May 2025, the Spring Term of 2025.
