Chain-snatcher on bus bites off finger of victim’s sister,held

A woman who bit off part of a finger of another woman when she tried to prevent her from snatching her sister’s gold chain in a PMPML bus,was apprehended by fellow passengers on Wednesday.

A woman who bit off part of a finger of another woman when she tried to prevent her from snatching her sister’s gold chain in a PMPML bus,was apprehended by fellow passengers on Wednesday.

The woman,Kalindi Ankush Badhe,a construction labourer,allegedly tried to snatch the chain from Tarabai Barne in the PMPML bus plying between Landewadi and Shivajinagar at 11.15 am .

Senior inspector Bhimrao Tele of Khadki police station said,”As Badhe was trying to snatch the chain,Barne and her sister Savitra Jakhalekar tried to nab her.

In the scuffle,Badhe bit off a part of Jakhalekar’s finger on the left hand.”

Some other passengers nabbed Badhe and the bus was taken to Khadki police station where Badhe was placed under arrest. Jakhalekar was taken to hospital. “There was a lot of bleeding. Jakhalekar is now out danger,” Tele said.
