“Wearing well-ironed clothes, and with files and mobile phone in hands, they walked into the Magarpatta City in style. The security guards thought these men are executives of some company. The men, however, committed thefts in the locked flats of the township,” Supekar said.

Manoj Sharma, the general manager (administration) of Magarpatta City, said,“After every theft we checked the CCTV footage of the place. We could repeatedly find some ‘well-dressed’ persons in the footage.

“We got the photographs of these persons. We handed over the snaps to the police and circulated the copies to our security guards.”

On June 2,the security team of Magarpatta City, comprising Sunil Dongre,Sambhaji Kharade,Dayand Aiwale and driver Ibrahim Pathan, identified the suspects and nabbed them after a thrilling chase on the Magarpatta City premises. They were later handed over to the police.

“We have arrested the burglars. One more accomplice, who was surveying the township for committing thefts,is absconding,” said inspector P G Mandhare.

“They were staying at a lodge in Pune. After committing theft in daytime, they used to go to Mumbai for selling the stolen gold,” he said.
