Winners Take it All
Pajhar by city-based Anubhav Theatre Group was announced the winner in the Musical category and Bharti Vidyapeeth College of Fine Arts emerged victorious in the Prose category during the fourth edition of Vodafone Rangasangeet 2013. The winner in the Musical category was presented a trophy and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh whereas the one in the Prose category was presented a trophy and a cheque of Rs 10,000. Over two months,120 teams participated in the competition and were shortlisted down to 13 who competed for the finals. The award function was held at the Balgandharava Rangamandir on November 10. Actor Sachin Khedekar,chief guest for the ceremony,said he would like to commend Vodafone on its initiative in developing this platform for upcoming theater talent in Maharashtra and Goa.
Rotary Excellence Award
Manasi Vikram,Executive Director of Kirloskar Systems,was conferred with the Rotary Leadership Excellence Award for her contribution towards community service and philanthropy,by Dada J P Vaswani at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission on November 9. Dada Vaswani also addressed the audience on the theme: Peace is my birthright. Kirloskar,24,who graduated last year from Rhode Island School of Design has started her own NGO called Caring With Colours. She has developed a community service model that makes community service an integral part of high school curriculum and has been meeting visiting schools in Bangalore to integrate this. She is also a part of Young Indians of CII and a member of the Owners Forum,a German-based association of businessmen,as well as The Next Gen group of McKinsey & Co.
