Nowrosjee Wadia College,one of the well reputed colleges in Pune celebrated it’s 80th Foundation Day on Saturday,July 21. The event was organised at Tata Assembly Hall at the campus. The get together began by paying homage to the eminent Wadian Late Rajesh Khanna and his days at the college. The function was then taken over by Dr Bhagwan Bajirao Thakur,principal,who congratulated the students and staff members for their achievements. It was followed by felicitation of film actor Deven Varma with the Eminent Wadians Award. The actor shared his memories attached to the college. Wadia hi hai sabse badhia (Wadia indeed is the best), he said. With his witty comments and strokes of comedy,the actor spoke of his days back in college,which got the audience laugh breathlessly. The Guest of Honour for the evening Shri Gulabrao Pol,Pune Police Commissioner,was also felicitated by the principal Thakur. It was an evening of nostalgia with Wadians sharing fond memories about their days at the prestigious college. Thakur ended the event with stating popular Hindi song ‘Jeena Yaha Marna Yaha,Iske Siva Jaana Kaha’.
MMCC celebrates Silver Jubilee
Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Commerce has celebrated its silver jubilee by organising a function for women self help groups in and around the city. Ramon Magsaysay Award winning social activist Nilima Mishra and Pune based activist Nirmala Purandare were guests on the occasion.
