Business diary: MIDC cancels MoU for Videocon land

Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation has reportedly cancelled a Memorandum of Understanding to acquire land for a multi-product of Videocon at Wagholi near Pune.

Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has reportedly cancelled a Memorandum of Understanding to acquire land for a multi-product of Videocon at Wagholi near Pune. The acqusition of 1200-1300 hectares of land was cancelled in the backdrop of lack of interest shown by the industry in the SEZ mode of investment.

XRBIA announces housing project

XRBIA Developers announced its inaugural housing project at Hinjewadi in the city. The project offers 4,000 houses including 1BHK smart,1BHK luxury,2 BHK and 3 BHK starting from Rs 9 lakh for a size of 269 sq ft. The houses have been designed by world acclaimed architect Hafeez Contractor. Spread over 200 acres,the township has best-in-class facilities with over 40 per cent of the landscape being dedicated to green open spaces. MCCIA organises seminar on bio-energy

MCCIA on Sunday organised a seminar on bio -energy in the city. Industrialist and executive chairman of Praj industries,Pramod Chaudhari,also the co-chairman of National Committee on renewable energy of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and the Vice President of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) delivered a key note address on ‘opportunities and challenges in bio -energy’ on the occasion. Addressing the gathering,he said despite many advantages,bio-energy has not recieved the requisite attention in the wind and solar energy sector from the government. “However,there has been successful effort in converting biomass into bio energy in the past two decades and major credit for the same goes to large number of sugar factories that are undertaking bagasse-based cogeneration of power and are converting molasses to ethanol,” he said.

WMS India opens new facility in city

WMS India,a development and testing center for WMS Industries,opened its state-of-the-art facility in the city. The facility was unveiled by Fred Gabbard,senior vice president,product development operations. “India has a substantial and talented base of software developers and engineers who were employed when we opened our former facility in 2010. Today,with this expansion,WMS is reaffirming our growth plans in the city.”
