BPO employee killed,rejected suitor suspect
The killer is suspected to be Vijaykumar Dudhale,an MCA student,whose marriage proposal the girl had turned down.
A 23-year-old MBA graduate working for a multinational BPO company was stabbed to death at her rented flat in Gulmohar Society in Farandenagar area in Dighi on Monday morning. The killer is suspected to be Vijaykumar Dudhale,an MCA student,whose marriage proposal the girl had turned down.
Vishrantwadi police identified the girl as Neelam Raju Yadgir who had completed her MBA from a college in Solapur and joined the BPO company in Yerawada about two months ago. Both Neelam and Dudhale are from Solapur.
Manik Akolkar,senior inspector with Vishrantwadi police,said,“For the last 15 days,she had been out of Pune. On Monday morning,she returned with a friend,Samod Raghavan.”
At around 10 am,neighbours heard her scream and rushed to the flat to find Neelam in a pool of blood. She could not survive the attack. She had injuries on the neck and hands. Police were informed and they reached the spot and recovered a knife from the scene of crime.
It was Raghavan who registered a police complaint.
Neelam reportedly saw Dudhale coming to the flat and asked Raghavan to hide somewhere. Raghavan left the flat to hide in a corner of the building and Dudhale was seen by neighbours entering the flat. He is suspected to have stabbed her on the neck and hand.
Sanjay Jadhav,deputy commissioner of police (Zone IV) said,“People had seen Dudhale going into the flat. Raghavan registered a complaint after the incident.”
Police said Raghavan knew Dudhale,too. A police officer said Dudhale had tried to commit suicide twice by consuming poison. He was an MCA student at a college in Talegaon Dabhade.
Cops have booked him for murder.
Neelam’s mother Sunita Yadgir said,“He asked Neelam to marry him,but he was less educated than her and had been repeatedly failing in exam. So we did not agree. But I never expected him to do this.”
She added she had spoken to Neelam on her cellphone on Sunday afternoon and she told her that she was going to return to Pune by Monday. ”We were planning to shift to Solapur as she was to prepare for bank examinations,” her mother added.
