BMW,documents,cash stolen

Unidentified persons stole a BMW car worth Rs 24 lakh,Rs 5.1 lakh in cash and some documents from the parking area of Ganga Satellite Housing colony between 6 pm on Wednesday and 7.20 am on Friday.

Pune:Unidentified persons stole a BMW car worth Rs 24 lakh,Rs 5.1 lakh in cash and some documents from the parking area of Ganga Satellite Housing colony between 6 pm on Wednesday and 7.20 am on Friday. Car owner Altaf Shabbir Shaikh (34),a resident of flat number 301,A-1,Ganga Satellite,has registered a theft case.

Mohol gang member held

Pune:Acting on a tip-off,a team of anti-organised crime cell of the Pune police led by inspector Balkrishna Kutwal nabbed a notorious criminal identified as Arjun alias Anna Shivaji Sable (27) near Akash Dhaba on the Lohegaon-Wagholi Road on Friday. Police said they seized two countrymade pistols and six live cartridges worth Rs 50,600 from him. Police said Badhe is a historysheeter and member of the Sharad Mohol gang.

City sees 13th swine-flu death

Pune:Namdeo Kharat from Srigonda district in Ahmednagar succumbed to H1N1 at Poona Hospital,registering the 13th swine flu death in the city. Kharat had been suffering from fever since September 12 and later from breathlessness. The statement issued by PMC officials said he did not receive any medication and was admitted to the KEM Hospital and was shifted to Poona Hospital on September 20. The throat swab tested positive for H1N1 at the National Institute of Virology. He died on September 21 due to septicemic shock due to the virus. Since April,around 334 persons have tested positive for swine flu.
