BJP leader Murlidhar Mohol is all set to be the next mayor of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) as the party has decided to field him for the post.
Mohol will be filing his nomination papers for the post on Monday. The election process would be held on November 22 as the term of present mayor Mukta Tilak is getting over on November 21.
The BJP has a majority in the PMC so it is certain for its nominated candidate to be elected for the post of mayor.
Mohol is a senior BJP leader who was aspirant to contest the recently concluded assembly elections from Kothrud seat but Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil contested and was elected on the seat. Mohol played an important role in campaigning for Patil in the assembly elections.
