Bharat Asmita National Awards ceremony at MIT,Kothrud

Chief minister of Sikkim,Pawan Kumar Chamling,received the Bharat Asmita Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar,2012 for his ‘outstanding contribution in the development of the state of Sikkim.’

MIT School of Government and MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions presented Bharat Asmita National Awards for the year 2011-12 at the MIT campus,Kothrud on Friday

Chief minister of Sikkim,Pawan Kumar Chamling,received the Bharat Asmita Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar,2012 for his ‘outstanding contribution in the development of the state of Sikkim.’

The Bharat Asmita Jana Pratinidhi Shreshta was conferred on Member of Parliament Jayant Chaudhury for being the youngest exponent of parliamentary practices. The chairman and managing director of BIG Synergy,Siddhratha Basu,received the Bharat Asmita Jana Jagran Shreshta award for best use of mass media in non profit organisations.

The Bharat Asmita Tantra Vigyaan Shreshta was received by Samir Kumar Brahmachari,director general,Council of Scientific and Industrial Research,New Delhi,for his outstanding contribution in the field of science and technology through innovation. The Bharat Asmita Acharya Shreshta award was conferred on S Parsuraman,the director of Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

Among others present were Raghunath Mashelkar,former director general,Council for Scientific and Industrial Research ,Vijay Bhatkar,founder director,Centre for Development of Advanced Computing,Chandrakant Pandav,advisor to the World Health Organisation and N K Sharma,ex-advisor to the prime minister.
