Concern India Foundation is hosting its annual Indian Art Show at the O Hotel in Koregaon Park on August 30. The exhibition will feature collectibles by upcoming and established artistes. The items on display will range from Rs 15,000 to 70,000. The exhibition is scheduled between 6 pm to 9 pm. All proceeds from the exhibition will go towards supporting the foundation’s social initiatives.

The music explodes

Mumbai band,The Lightyears Explode will perform at High Spirits on August 26. They are a three piece garage and indie band comprising Aaron Carvalho on Drums,Shalom Benjamin on Bass and Saurabh Roy on guitars and vocals. The band had won the 2011 edition of the Channel [V Launchpad and released their eponymous EP last year.

Reel training

Gurudutt Films Acting academy will begn training its first batch of full-time students from August 27. The course is focused on those who want to pursure acting professionally and will train students in acting techniques,diction and other skills. Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap,who also supports the academy,will select some students for acting scholarships. The academy is also scheduled to start weekend and evening batches for working professionals soon.
