Teachers honoured

*The Maharashtra Rastraseva Samiti and Padmashri Dr Manibhai Desai Manavseva Trust honoured teachers for their contribution to society. Students welfare officer at Modern College,Shivajinagar,Dr Sudhir Krishnarao Ujlambkar received the best teacher award with Pandurang Gadekar from K K Ghule School and Madhuri Gadekar of PMC’s school for special children.

Workshop on eco-housing

*Students interacted with engineers from well-known firms during a state-level eco-housing workshop organised by the Institute of Information Technology. The event was inaugurated by Capt Shivajirao Mahadakar,secretary AISSMS.

Management students celebrate Baker’s Day

Students of M A Rangoonwala Institute of Hotel Management and Research,Azam Campus,celebrated the International Baker’s Day on Sunday. The students prepared dishes such as tapas from Spain,baklava and lavash from Arab countries,brusseto from Mexico,pizza from Italy,hot dogs and cinnamon swirls from America,doughnut and chocolate sandwich from France and Greek Mussakka and chicken barbeque skewers from Greece.

Ankit Fadia speaks on ethical hacking

* With an aim to spread awareness about internet hacking,the International Institute of Information & Technology invited computer security expert Ankit Fadia to speak on the subject. The 24-year-old informed the gathering about ethical hacking and issues related to computer security.

Educationists from Singapore,Oman in city

z Educationists from Oman,Singapore and Harvard Medical School were in the city to attend a conference on internationalisation of higher education with special reference to management education at the Symbiosis International University. Delegates from Georgia University visited the Progressive Education Society’s Modern College of Arts,Science and Commerce to come up with better courses and curriculum.

Scholarships for students

z IN a bid to improve education levels,the ENA Foundation has started a scholarship for 30 class 11 students who have been adopted under this year’s Zakat fund. The foundation works for the upliftment of the poor.

Sahasrabuddhe is MKSSS president

*Snehlata Sahasrabuddhe has been elected as president of the 114-year-old Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS). Anil Mankikar has been re-elected vice president while Prakash Karandikar will be trustee of the organisation. Sahasrabuddhe,as been instrumental in starting courses such as BSc nursing,s aid a press release.
