Social activist Anna Hazare Friday received a formal invite for the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister designate Arvind Kejriwal and the rest of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) cabinet. However,Anna has said he will not be able to travel to Delhi owing to ill health.

Hazare’s personal assistant Datta Awari said Hazare’s office has received an email from the secretary, general administration of the Delhi government,on Friday inviting him to attend the swearing-in ceremony to be held at the Ramlila Grounds in Delhi.

He said Kejriwal had talked to Anna over phone and tried to persuade him to attend the function. “They spoke for a few minutes. However,Anna made it clear that he won’t be able to travel to Delhi because he is not keeping well since the last fast,” said Awari.

He said the 75-year-old activist was feeling considerably weak and doctors have advised him to avoid traveling for at least one more week.

Last year,Anna and Kejriwal parted ways over Kejriwal’s decision to form his own political party to bring the Jan Lokpal and fight elections while Anna decided to remain apolitical.
