Akshay Tritiya: Buyers remain jittery as gold prices shoot up

Since December last year, gold prices have been on the rise both in domestic and international markets. At present in Pune, 10 gms of gold is being sold between Rs 59,000 and 62,000.

AN OVERALL 22 per cent increase in prices over the past six months has acted as a dampener for purchase of gold ahead of Akshay Tritiya on April 22 when customers religiously buy gold. The jewellers in the city are not very optimistic and wary about the business they would be able to generate this year.

The price was even higher earlier this week but came down marginally due to pullback in US dollar and bond yield.
