The all India engineering entrance examination (AIEEE) was held on Sunday. Around 25,000 students in the city appeared for the exam. A total of 1,24,000 students from the state had registered for the exam.
The AIEEE scores are used for admission to BE,BTech,BArch and Bplanning in 20 NITs,IIITs,IITM,IITDM,16 deemed universities and nine central and state universities. In Pune alone,around 40 engineering colleges accept AIEEE scores for the admission that have 15 per cent quota for AIEEE.
The exam was divided into two schedules 9 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 5 pm. The results are expected to be out on or before June 7 and score cards will be dispatched to the candidates from June 12 to 27.
