Ahirrao CA’s generosity hands RJKP comfortable win

Team bowls 63 wides; loses by 164-run margin.

Sixty-three wides in extras amounting to 72 spelled doom for Ahirrao Cricket Academy,who failed to even match the number of wides their bowlers gave away,as Rajmata Jijau Krida Pratishthan (RJKP) registered an emphatic164-run win in the league match of the Influx Cricket Cup tournament at the ILS Law College Ground.

Smith Parekh,Harsh Jain,Neeraj Khairnar,Harish Deshpande and Yash Gujarathi sent down one wide after another as all of them logged two-digit figures giving RJKP easy runs in heaps.

Interestingly,top scorer Mihir Killedar’s 40 were second best score for RJKP. Akshit Ingale (26) and Om Sane (24) were the other scorers as the team scored 190 for four in 20 overs. In that Killedar and Ingale shared a crucial fourth-wicket partnership of 62 runs off 48 balls.

Man-of-the-match Adhiraj Kadam snapped four wickets for 12 runs,while Sarthak Walke (2/5) and Aryan Dutta (2/5) joined the party as Ahirrao Cricket Academy crumbled to 26 all out in 9.5 overs.


The second match of the day saw Ambegaon Taluka Cricket Academy beat Nannaware Sports Foundation by three wickets in a nail-biting finish. Electing to bat,Nannaware Sports Foundation scored 121 for nine in 20 overs with Shree Kshirsagar (39) topping the scoreboard. Ambegaon’s response was spurred by a fourth-wicket stand between Vivek Gaikwad (33) and Rutik Choughule (44) worth 84 runs in 74 balls.

In the end,the team from Ambegaon needed 31 runs from six overs and they went almost made a match of it. Ambegaon needed six runs from the last over and Om Bhor scored a boundary on the fourth ball to bring about the win for Ambegaon.
