Film star-turned-MP Shatrughan Sinha,better known as ‘shotgun’ said until the rural India really makes progress,our nation will not be healthy and wealthy. He criticised the national budget for not having anything for the common man.
Sinha was in the city to take part in the inaugural function of the second branch of Nagar Urban Co-operative Bank Limited in the city in Sadashiv Peth.
BJP general secretary Gopinath Munde was also present.
Sixty years after independence,75 per cent population resides in the rural areas of the country. However,I came to know just recently that there are only 25 per cent of medical facilities available for them,whereas,in the urban parts,people get all kinds of medical facilities, Sinha said.

Shotgun dumped the UPA government’s union budget saying,Yeh kaisa budget hai? (What kind of budget is this?) There is nothing for the common man in the budget.
Munde said it was not an easy task to run a bank and in the times to come the co-operative banks will have to cope with fierce competition from private banks.
Chairman of the bank Dilip Gandhi,former MP Anna Joshi,MLA Girish Bapat and MLC Mohan Joshi were also present. MP Suresh Kalmadi was also present.
