A six-year-old boy drowned in a well in Kondhwa area after he accidently fell into it while playing on Wednesday afternoon. His body was taken out by fire brigade divers in the evening. Fire brigade officials have identified the deceased as Sai Bhagwan Yadav, a resident of Antulenagar in Kondhwa.
Fire officer Sameer Shaikh said, “As per preliminary information, the boy was playing with friends near the well. The well is covered with net but has openings where the three pulleys are fitted for drawing the water. We have been told that the boy was playing with the steel rods of these pulleys and fell into the well.”
Shaikh added, “After locals realised that the boy had fallen, police and fire brigade were informed. The well is 70-ft-deep and had water filled up to 60-ft. Our divers and other expert volunteer divers were able to retrieve the boy’s body around 5 pm.” The boy is survived by his parents.
