49 penalised for ticketless travel on Sinhagad Express

Divisional Railway Manager Suneet Sharma,who conducted a surprise check on Sinhagad Express on Saturday, caught as many as 49 ticketless travellers and imposed a a total fine of Rs 13,900 on them. Sharma had taken over as DRM,Pune Division,in the first week of August.

Authorities said the railway would continue their ticket checking drive.

“Besides ticketless travel,passengers can also be penalised for travelling in wrong coaches,carrying unbooked luggage and sitting dangerously close to doors,” said officials.

Additional Divisional Railway Manager Ashok Medekar,ticket checking staff,and RPF officials were present during the drive.
