4 sandalwood trees stolen from NCL Colony again

Unidentified persons have stolen four sandalwood trees from the premises of the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) Colony in Pashan in the early hours of Thursday.
An FIR has been lodged in this connection at Chaturshringi police station on Friday.
Police said four sandalwood trees from NCL colony were chopped and stolen by thieves around 3.15 am. After receiving information about the incident, a police team reached the spot and initiated a probe.
Sandalwood thieves have been reported at the NCL multiple times in the past. Five sandalwood trees were stolen from NCL in February this year.
Also, in December 2022, three sandalwood trees were stolen from the NCL premises.
Meanwhile, in April this year, the Pune city police had arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in sandalwood thefts at NCL. The two suspects were nabbed while they running suspiciously in the bushes near the NCL on April 25. During further investigation, cops seized 25 kilograms of stolen sandalwood from them.
