2 stolen safes containing over Rs 2 lakh found abandoned

The safes were stolen from the warehouse of a private company in Tathawade.

Two safes,which were allegedly stolen from a company warehouse in Tathawade,were found abandoned at a farm in Ravet on Monday. Police said robbers tried their best to open the safes but did not succeed.

The incident came to light when Sandeep Bhondwe,a resident of Ganeshnagar in Ravet,found two safes abandoned at his farm and informed the police.

Ram Jadhav,senior inspector,Dehu Road police station said,“The safes were stolen from the warehouse of a private company in Tathawade. As per the company administration,the safes contain over Rs 2 lakh. We suspect the safes to have been stolen sometime in the night. The safes have digital locks. It seems the suspects abandoned them as they could not open it.”

Hinjewadi police station is investigating the case further.
