Patna police arrested two people late on Sunday night from Pandarak for misbehaving with a couple from the UK. The couple, travelling by motorboat from Hardwar to Kolkata had stopped near Pandarak for a break.
Two residents, identified as Chhathu Kunar and Baiju Kumar, approached the couple, Matthew and Jessie, and started misbehaving with them and tried to take away their luggage. The couple shouted for help. Some villagers gathered after which the duo fled. The couple went to Pandarak police station to lodge an FIR.
Patna SSP Manu Maharaj told The Indian Express: “We immediately used a boat to trace the two suspects and arrested them from near the Ganga bank. The accused had intended to rob the couple but could not succeed.” The couple resumed their motorboat journey to Kolkata.
