Nagpur-based mobile app to reward citizens for good traffic behaviour

Rewards worth Rs 35 crore available for redemption. According to the team, the application will be a revolutionary step towards minimising road accidents.

A Nagpur-based mobile application ‘Traffic Rewards’ launched by Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari is incentivising citizens for exhibiting good traffic behaviour.

A pilot project developed by Social Impact Innovation under the joint initiative of Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the mobile app is rewarding Nagpur citizens who follow traffic rules with “points” to avail benefits and discounts from the leading brands of the country.

Launched after a pilot study of one-and-a-half-years, the application is available on both Android (Google PlayStore) and iOS (Apple Store) mobile devices. The project management consultant of the project is Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur.
