Youth murdered,10 booked

A twenty-year-old man was killed in Dharavi late on Saturday night. Police said the deceased,Mohammad Ansari,was stabbed on the chest and back by two persons after a monetary dispute. The police have also named eight others in the case for allegedly assaulting Ansari.

The Dharavi police said Ansari owed the ten persons money. The incident took place at Ambedkar Chawl,Rajiv Gandhi Nagar,Dharavi,around 10 pm on Saturday.

“Ansari was on his way to his house when ten persons confronted him. He owed them money and they wanted it back. The ten started assaulting him with sticks and rods,” said the officer. Two of the suspects stabbed Ansari before fleeing the spot.

“Ansari was taken to Sion Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival,” the officer said.

The police have registered a case of murder against the ten persons.
