What is the that differentiates your school from other institutes?
The name of Birla School,Kalyan,itself suggests the association with the B K Birla Group of Companies and stands for an assurance in quality education and managed by KCES (Kalyan Citizens Education Society) ,founded in the year 1971 by the efforts of the late G D Birla. The school is committed to International Standards of education and has a campus spread over six acres of land and envisages all has all the infrastructure and modern facilities for students from Nursery to Std XII for their all round development. The school has six fully equipped science laboratories for physics,chemistry and biology,a maths lab separately in the old and new buildings and these subject-wise laboratories give the students a lot of opportunities for practical as well as to induce their scientific fervor.
Interactive boards and audio visual digital concepts for all the subjects are installed in the classrooms to enhance teaching and learning techniques making it easier for both the teachers and the students.
A well-equipped library is a special feature of the school. A wide range of books covering pictures, fiction,novels,poetry,drama etc are available to the students,teachers and also the parents in English,Hindi and Marathi. Every effort is taken to ensure and promote a conducive environment and comfort to the students. Reference books on subjects such as English,Hindi,mathematics,science,social studies,computer science,part from biographies of renowned personalities and periodicals for competitive exams are made available.

What are your views on Right to Education Act introduced by the Government and its implementation?
It is a welcome step by the government. But much needs to be done on the implementation front in the remote areas to give access to students who are deprived of education. Sufficient funds need be allotted by the government for the purpose to achieve the goal set.
What are the assessment procedures for judging the students progress?
Assessment of the students is done on a regular basis to understand their grasping levels and shared with parents from time to time .Students are given special attention and training if found weak in certain areas and are coached in such a manner that they find themselves at par with other students in due course. The faculty are well trained to handle each student according to their strengths and help the students to cope up with their curriculum.
The assessment procedures are as per CBSE norms and are transparent and discussed with the parents and the students from time to time.
How are the new RTO norms being adhered to by Birla School?
A transport committee has been formed which includes the school management,parents and transporters to ensure the smooth transportation of children from their homes to the school and back from their respective routes. The school buses have ample space above for the school bags of the children and has a cleaner and attendant on board. A first-aid kit is available in each of the buses. A help desk in the school provides parents with information about the arrival and departure of the buses and attends to any specific queries of the parents. All norms have been adhered to by the school as per the RTO guidelines and strictly implemented. Any deviation of the norms laid down by the school invites strict action.
What recreational facilities are provided to the students?
Excellent facilities are provided for both indoor and outdoor game for the students in the form of a huge playground with facilities for football,volleyball,basketball etc and Indoor Playroom offer carrom,chess,table-tennis and so on. Students are taken for study trips and excursions.
What role does moral values play in the holistic development of your students?
Moral values play an important role in the development of our students and our institution is pledged in instilling moral values in each and every student of Birla School. Right from the management to the teachers and to the students,moral values are practiced and taught and respected and this has been the most precious aspect of Birla School for we have been able to give the students not only international standards of education but also nurtured in them our moral values to be inherited by them throughout their life. Respect for the faculty,parents,elders,honesty,integrity,politeness ,humbleness are instilled in them to make them respectable citizens of Future India. Visits to old-age homes helps them appreciate the issues faced by senior citizens and develop a feeling of love and affection towards them. Feeling of oneness with nature is felt among the students when they visit rural areas to understand the need for improvement in the living conditions of the inhabitants of those areas.
What are the initiatives taken at Birla School to promote co-curricular activities among students?
Apart from from teaching the students computer science,art,craft and physical health education during the regular periods,the school has allotted an additional hour daily to encourage the students to have access to activities such as Yoga,skating,martial arts and dance. A Kids Pool is provided for the Pre-Primary students to enjoy water games.
The school also runs various clubs such as Nature Club,Creativity Club,Fine Arts Club,Reading Club,Dramatic Club,Oratorical Club,Maths Club,Gardening Club,Health and Wellness Club and Science Club.
