(Express Archives) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Wednesday that water supply in several pockets of the city will be affected between Thursday and Friday to facilitate repair works on a water channel.
Meanwhile, the stock in the seven lakes supplying water in Mumbai finally soared to 99 per cent on Wednesday morning.
According to BMC, the 1450-mm diameter water main channel from Tansa East is set to be repaired along the Senapati Bapat Marg. With the civic authority slated to undertake repair works over 19 hours starting Thursday, water supply will be suspended in several areas of G/North ward (Dadar, Mahim) and G/South ward (Worli, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi) from 10 pm on Thursday (September 26) until 5 pm on Friday (September 27).
Here are the details of the affected areas:
1) G – South – Currey Road, Sakharam Bala Pawar Marg, Mahadev Palav Marg, Lower Parel, Delisle Marg, B D D Chawl (daily water supply timing – 4.30 am to 7.45 am): water supply will be shut.
2) G South – N M Joshi Marg, B D D Chawl (daily water supply timing – 2.30 pm to 3 pm): water supply will be shut.
3) G South – Entire Prabhadevi, Adarsh Nagar, P Balu Marg, Hatiskar Marg, Marathe Marg, Pandurang Budhkar Marg, Senapati Bapat Marg, N M Joshi Marg, Ganpatrao Kadam Marg (daily water supply timing – 4 pm to 7 pm): water supply will be affected by 33 per cent.
4) G North – Senapati Bapat Marg, Veer Savarkar Marg, Gokhale Marg, Kakasaheb Gangeel Marg, Sayani Marg, Bhawani Shankar Marg (daily water supply timing – 4 pm to 7 pm): Water supply will be affected by 33 per cent.

Meanwhile, amid heavy rain sweeping Mumbai and its suburbs, the stock in the seven lakes catering to water demands in Mumbai touched 99.26 per cent, which accounts for 14.36 lakh million litres, on Wednesday morning. Last year and in 2022, the water stock in the lakes hovered around 98 per cent on the same day.
