Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Narayan Rane. (Express File Photo) Union Minister Narayan Rane on Monday said police should take action against Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi president Prakash Ambedkar for the mindless remarks he made recently. Rane’s demand comes after Ambedkar warned of anarchy in the country after Diwali.
A couple of days ago, Ambedkar had said, “I clearly sense things are not going to be smooth. There will be anarchy. There is possibility of well-planned communal clashes.”
“After Diwali, it is going to be katla ki raat (deadly dark night). Muslims will be targeted,” he observed, adding: “It is my ardent appeal to people to show restraint and exercise caution. Don’t fall prey to plotters.”
According to Ambedkar, the unrest and communal tension would be part of the plans keeping the 2024 polls in sight.
However, Ambedkar refrained from taking the name of any party or leader. Yet, his statement has evoked reaction. Union Minister for MSME Narayan Rane said, “Ambedkar has made a very serious statement. And police should call him and investigate what was his source of information. By making such irresponsible statements, he cannot get away. If he is making such statements, he should provide proof or share details to verify.”
“I urge police to call Ambedkar and seek proof. The police should take action against Ambedkar,” Rane demanded.
Meanwhile, irked over Rane’s demand for police action, Ambedkar said, “He is a chindi chor (petty thief). I don’t have to take cognizance about what he said.
