Car carrying Uddhav Thackeray’s relative meets with accident, one dead

The mishap took place at Sinnar in Nashik on Tuesday night when the CM's sister-in-law Vina Karande and others were returning from Shirdi.

A car carrying a relative of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met with an accident on the Mumbai-Nashik highway, police said on Wednesday.

While the CM’s sister-in-law Vina Karande is safe, her friend traveling in the same car died.

According to the police, the accident took place at Sinnar in Nashik on Tuesday night, when Karande with some other families was returning from Shirdi in a sports utility vehicle (SUV).

The car driver apparently dozed off, thus losing control over the wheels, and the vehicle overturned.

Those injured were rushed to a hospital in Nashik.
