Traffic jam on Mumbai’s Western Express Highway after vehicles break down

A massive traffic jam was reported on the Western Express Highway Tuesday morning after a BEST bus and a water tanker broke down on the north and southbound stretches of the highway.

A traffic police official said, “Both the vehicles have broken down on the middle lane of the highway due to which vehicular movement was largely affected.”

The official added there was some mechanical issue with the BEST bus and it broke down on the northbound direction of the road near Vakola. While the water tanker stopped working on the southbound direction of the highway near Milan subway in Vile Parle, the official also said.
