Mumbai Tigers have filled up their quota of under-23 players by signing five talented youngsters in the recently-concluded trials

Mumbai Tigers have filled up their quota of under-23 players by signing five talented youngsters in the recently-concluded trials. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has made it mandatory for all the teams to include at least one under-23 player in the starting XI in the coming season of the I-League.

The Bimal Ghosh-coached team have signed Saju Kumar S (Bhawanipore FC),Shehnaj Singh (Pailan Arrows),Abhishek Ambekar (Air India),Pritam Singh (Sporting Clube de Goa) and Raju (RCF).

All the five players are proven talents and are great addition to the team. The club also completed the formalities with Paresh Shivalkar and Lester Fernandes.

Meanwhile,Tigers’ state-rivals Pune FC completed the signing of Arup Debnath to complete their goalkeeper line-up for the 2013-14 season.

The twenty-five year old,West Bengal-born custodian joins Pune FC after a season-long stint with Mumbai Tigers and joins Shahinlal Meloly and Amrinder Singh in the goal. Interestingly,Arup was part of Pune FC’s wish-list back in 2009-10.

Pune FC Head Operations,Chirag Tanna said,“I am sure his age syncs with our objectives of building a youthful and exciting side for the season. I wish him all the best during his stint with us.”

Arup added: “I always had an eye on Pune FC,I am happy that the time has come. I thank all who kept faith in my ability and want to prove myself now. I was very close in joining Pune FC earlier. Fate back then was not to be on my side,but now I have the opportunity to show my worth.”

Graduating from Steel Authority of India (SAIL),Bokaro,Arup as a 19-year-old began his professional career signing for East Bengal in the 2006-07.
