Three-yr-old girl dies after glass showcase falls on her in Andheri
After the autopsy, the girl’s parents took her body to their native place in Karnataka.

A three-year-old girl died after a seven-foot glass showcase of a wafer shop fell on her in Andheri (East) area on Tuesday evening, following which the shop owner and a worker were arrested on charges of causing death due to negligence.
The child has been identified as Sanjana, who resided with her family in Ramdhar Yadav Chawl in Andheri (East).

According to police, Sanjana, along with her elder brother and a cousin, was playing with other kids near her house and went to the Sai Arvind A1 Hot Chips shop near Sardar Dairy. The kids were hanging on to the bar of the glass showcase in which wafers were kept.
“The showcase fell on the kids. Two kids narrowly escaped, but as the girl was at the centre, the seven to eight foot long showcase fell on her. The girl sustained injuries on her head due to the broken shards of the glass showcase,” said Rajendra Mandhare, senior inspector of Maghwadi police station.
Sun-inspector Mayur Ingle said the locals and the 17-year-old cousin of the girl rushed her to Jogeshwari trauma centre, where doctors declared her dead.

A worker, identified as Krishna, was working at the shop. He did not see kids hanging from the bar of the showcase as he was busy cleaning the floor. The owner of the shop, Anand Raj, was not there at the time of the incident.
