Three bikers riding under the influence of alcohol allegedly stalked and molested two women travelling in an autorickshaw in Versova on Saturday. All three have been arrested, the police said. According to the police, the incident took place on the Juhu-Versova Link Road in Andheri West at 2 am on Saturday when a woman was returning home in Yari Road with her brother and another woman friend.

As the autorickshaw moved towards Versova, three men riding on two motorbikes began following it, the police said. The accused then pulled level with the autorickshaw and ordered the driver to stop, but the driver ignored them and tried to speed away, the police added.

An officer at Versova police station said the men also tried to pull the women out of the moving autorickshaw, even as the brother held them back.

Finally, the autorickshaw was forced to stop and when a passerby rushed to intervene, the drunk men allegedly assaulted him, the police said.

The brother then called the police, who arrived several minutes later and arrested the men.

“We arrested the men from the spot. They live at Kapaswadi slum on Juhu-Versova Link Road and were riding around under the influence of alcohol,” said Kiran Kale, senior inspector, Versova police station.
