A day after Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray was taken home from hospital,his father and party chief Bal Thackeray (84) was taken to Bandra-based Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday following complaints of stomach infection and fever.
Thackeray,who was admitted to the hospital in the afternoon for a routine check-up,is reported to be stable.
Several tests will be conducted over the next two days on the octogenarian who suffers from a heart condition.
He has been admitted to the hospital and will remain there for the next few days. His condition is stable and there is nothing to worry, said Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut.
Party leaders said the leader had developed a stomach infection and fever. He was expected to be hospitalised on Monday but the decision was deferred as Uddhav was released from hospital the same day. Uddhav was discharged on Monday following an angioplasty to remove three coronary blockages.
Doctors said Bal Thackeray had constipation and a stomach infection. Since he had been hospitalised,other routine tests would also be conducted,they said. Thackeray senior was last admitted to hospital in May for a routine check-up.
Nephew and MNS chief Raj Thackeray is expected to call upon the leader in hospital.
