A witness in the alleged rape and murder case of a Hyderabad techie in 2014 on Wednesday told the court that he saw the accused trying to kick-start his bike around the time the crime was committed in Bhandup.
The witness was walking his dogs the morning the incident took place when he saw Sanap struggling to start his bike at 6:30 am, 100 metres into the service road near BhandupPeshwar Kund (talab).
Identifying the accused in court, the witness testified on Wednesday that Sanap had a healthy build and was wearing a white T- shirt that morning. He also told the court that Sanap’s T-shirt had mud stains. “When I asked him (Sanap) as to what happened to the bike? He told me that there was no petrol,” the witness deposed.
During his cross examination, the defence lawyer, Prakash Salsingankar asked if his dogs had started running towards the spot where the police found the techie’s body, to which the witness replied in the negative.
The lawyer also asked the witness if the area had a burning stink to it, to which the witness said, that he did not.The court also examined another witness who lent his bike to Sanap’s friend, after the alleged incident.
