The 17th edition of Techfest,the annual technological festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay,will have an exhibition of supercars that have captivated people across the world. IITB Techfest,which celebrates technology and innovation,will be held from January 3-4 and will have some of the best innovations from across the world on display at its Powai campus.
This year,supercars such as Ferrari F430,Porsche 911 and Mercedes E Cabriolet,will not only on display,but will be driven around the campus,too.
Other exhibits include BINA 48,the worlds most advanced social robot to talk to,F1 simulators for entertainment and the city of Mumbai created through 3D mapping at Powai.
June,a 3D projection show,will generate and change the sets of a movie scene. The technology is already being explored in Hollywood and other foreign film industries.
The campus will have street shows like juggling,miming and beat boxing mixed with a dash of comedy,magic and mentalism. Teams from 12 countries,including Pakistan,will prove their mettle in the robotics challenge, said

Bharat Ratna awardee CNR Rao will speak on the scientific progress of the nation during the fest.
We are expecting a footfall of more than a lakh,with visitors comprising mainly of the youth from across the nation from over 2,300 colleges in India and 500 abroad. This year,we have exhibits from the US,Japan,Germany,Switzerland and many other countries, said Aman Mantry,media and marketing coordinator of Techfest.
