TV actor Nitin Singh dies by suicide in Mumbai’s Goregaon

On Thursday evening, when Chauhan's wife and daughter were out, he allegedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan using a rope.

Television actor Nitin Singh alias Chauhan (35) allegedly died by suicide at his Goregaon flat on Thursday. Preliminary probe indicated that he was under depression as he was not getting work.

According to Dindoshi police, Chauhan lived with his wife and daughter. On Thursday evening, when Chauhan’s wife and daughter were out, he allegedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan using a rope.

Police said on returning home, when Chauhan did not open the door, his wife broke open the door with the help of neighbours and found Chauhan hanging with a bedsheet. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he was declared dead.

“During preliminary inquiry, we learnt that Chauhan was not getting work since past few years and was in depression because of this,” said Ajay Afle, senior inspector at Dindoshi police station. Chauhan worked in reality show Dadagiri season 2 and also participated in MTV Splitsvilla and Crime Patrol.

The Dindoshi police have registered an accidental death report and are further probing the matter.
