State Police fire 10 past SBI

Maharashtra State Police proved too strong for State Bank of India as they romped to an overwhelming 10-0 victory in a Super Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association league at the St Xavier’s ground,Parel on Wednesday.

Maharashtra State Police (MSP) proved too strong for State Bank of India (SBI) as they romped to an overwhelming 10-0 victory in a Super Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) league at the St Xavier’s ground,Parel on Wednesday.

Mohsin Mohd and Azhar Shaikh found the target twice each and others to join the goal-fest were Amir Shaikh,Sandeep Bedekar,Farhaz Shaikh,Amjad Khan,Shadhab Rehaman and Imran Shaikh,who all contributed a goal each to complete the demolition of the bankers. Earlier,Juhu Sparks failed to report for their match against Mumbai Muslims.

Police commissioner tourney

Police Commissioner T20 Day/Night Cricket Tournament will be played at the Police Gymkhana ground,Marine Drive,from May 5. Leading city eight teams will take part in a league format tournament.

Cricket museum

A cricket museum displaying personal belongings of legendary cricketers from around the world,including the late Sir Donald Bradman,was inaugurated by Sachin Tendulkar in Pune. The museum,set up in the Sahakar Nagar area of the city by a private collector Rohan Pate. Lauding Pate’s efforts,Tendulkar said it would offer cricket lovers an opportunity to see things associated with the greats in the game. The museum has a collection of bats and balls used by famous cricketers including Sir Don Bradman and has a separate section devoted to Tendulkar who has handed over the T-shirt worn by him during the 2011 World Cup victory.
