St Joseph’s High School’s achievements

Chess Tanmayee Gange (XA) participated in 2nd Jain International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2013,held in Ahmednagar from 21st to 25th April 2013. She scored 6/10 points and secured 3rd place in Ladies.

Chess Tanmayee Gange (XA) participated in 2nd Jain International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2013,held in Ahmednagar from 21st to 25th April 2013. She scored 6/10 points and secured 3rd place in Ladies.

1. Participated in Late Sou. Meenatai Shirgaokar International Womens Open Chess Tournament held at Sangli from 1st to 5th May 2013 scored 6½ /9 points and secured 3rd Rank in Maharashtra and 9th place in India.

2. Participated in Maharashtra State Sub-Junior Girls chess championship 2013 held at Wardha from 19th to 23rd June. She scored 4½/6 points and secured 6th place and was selected for Nationals.

DRAWING & PAINTING COMPETITION JANHAVI BHARAT DAYRE (VIH) participated in Drawing & Painting Competition organized by Doodle 4 Google in 2012. More than 400 students from Stds III to X participated from our school. She was declared as Champ of the School”

KARATE DAMINI BAGUL (XA) participated in the Mumbai Mayor Cup Karate Championship at Swatantraveer Sawarkar Smarak,Shivaji Park,Mumbai on 9th & 10th March 2013.

1. She participated in the 16 & 17 years Individual Kumite event and 48.1 kg Cadet Category & was placed first.

2. She also participated in the 16 & 17 years Individual Kata & was placed third.

Bastille Day at Ryan International School

French students from Ryan International School,Kandivali (E),celebrated ‘The Bastille Day’ on 15th July,2013. Bastille Day is the French Independence Day,which is celebrated on 14th July. The day marks the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille Prison by the French Third Estate in 1789. The students came together with the motto to display their knowledge about France. The day began with a special morning assembly. It provided a glimpse into the rhythmic music of France. The students sang French songs. They also paid respect with a rendition of the French National Anthem. The students of class 5th presented the classic French style through a fashion show.

The students also displayed the French flag,architecture,cuisine,geographical landmarks,significant facts and various aspects of the French culture.

The French students added vitality to the day by presenting a skit on the life of Jeanne d’Arc. At Cambridge School,an exhibition was arranged with pictures,models and specialities of France.

‘Yashasvi Bhava an excellent guide’

“It is important to get a perfect guideline at the right time for the intelligence in every student & for that Indian Express Group’s “YASHASVI BHAVA” is an excellent guide,” said Mr Charansing Sapra at a workshop for SSC students in Mulund.

For this workshop,SSC students from Mulund Vidyamandir,Wamanrao Muranjan Vidyalaya,Rajeev Gandhi Vidyalaya & P K Road Muncipal Corporation School were present. YB’s teachers Mr Akhilesh Bhosale & Mrs Supriya Abhyankar gave some guidelines for English and Math to student. The programme was attended by Loksatta’s Western Zone Head Mr Mangesh Thakur,Mumbai Circulation Head Mr Ronak,ex- MLA Mr B K Tiwari,Parshuram Mirekar,Mrs Manorama Patil,Mr Manoj Dubey,President of Wamanrao Muranjan Trust Dr Anand Pradhan. The programme was organized by Mr Sayyad Ayub.

Independence Day at Cambridge Int’l School

Every year,we celebrate independence day and feel happy that we are citizen of this free nation. However,we also remember the martyrs who gave their lives for this freedom. The value of this day though cannot be penned down in words,The Cambridge International School and our young learners make it a point to see that this day is memorable. They add sense to every little activity they do in school every day,especially on Independence Day. This year,too,The Cambridge International celebrated Independence day with great zeal. Chief guests and Trustees of the school Mr Sachin Pote and Mr Bipin Pote were given a warm welcome by the little stars of the school. The flag hoisting took place at 9.30 am. The mass salutation to the flag was given,followed by speeches by the chief guests,Coordinator Mrs SuryalathaShetty,Head of Sports Mr AmolShinde and Student Council President Ms Akshata More.

The opening of the day was followed by patriotic songs by the students. A skit by the students portrayed the integrity,the strength and the devotion of the heroes under whose leadership our country got freedom.

Students of primary section went on field trips outside the school premises. The students took the initiative to visit the areas of Kalya,where the flags were littered on the pathway. They gathered the flags to make a collage and pay due respect to the Tricolour.

Then they visited the statues of our great leaders in Kalyan. The children were told short stories of these freedom fighters and the leaders.

Student of St Xavier’s does school proud

Nikita Ingale of Std IX stood first in Track & Field Championship (5,000 mtr) in the Women category. The event was organised by The Mumbai Suburban District Athletic Association on 21st July 2013.

Living up to the dream and vision of our Chairman Dr Augustine Francis Pinto and Managing Director Ma’am Grace Pinto,Nikita D Ingale carved a niche for herself at the championship and was honoured with a certificate and a gold medal. This competition was held at the Sports Authority of India ground in Kandivali (E). It was proud moment for everyone at Xaviers.
