South Mumbai’s Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Worli areas to face 22-hour water supply cut starting Thursday night

Multiple pockets in south Mumbai’s Worli and Lower Parel areas, located in the municipal wards of G/South and G/North, will face a 22-hour long water supply disruption starting Thursday night, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed on Wednesday. The disruption will be on account of maintenance and repair works, the civic authorities said.

Starting from 10 pm on Thursday, repair works will begin on a 1,450 mm water pipeline and  is expected to be completed by 8 pm the next day.

“The entire water supply through the pipelines needs to be stopped to prevent spillage. As a result, the supply will be completely cut off during this 22-hour period. The valves for the pipeline are located underneath the main road at Gaware Chowk for which traffic will also be halted,” said an official.
