Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Monday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, pointing to the threat to life of elected representatives and others who are raising their voice over the murder of Santosh Deshmukh–sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed district.
Sharad Pawar demanded that Fadnavis should ensure adequate safety arrangements for the elected representatives of all parties who are raising the issue of murder and demanding justice.
“This incident in Beed is a blot on the tradition of cultured Maharashtra. Media, elected representatives have been raising their voice for justice in this matter. Considering the series of crimes in the Beed district, there is question on security of elected representatives. So, I request you to review the safety arrangements and provide adequate police protection to them,” said Pawar in the letter to Fadnavis.
On Sunday, social activist Anjali Damania had alleged threat calls to her for raising the murder case of Santosh Deshmukh.
