Several areas of western suburbs face 100% water cut on April 23, 24

Several areas in Malad, Goregaon and Kandivali in the western suburbs will experience a 100% water cut for 24-hours between April 23 and 24, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Civic officials said that the said water cut will be implemented as the BMC will take up work of upgrading the existing 600 mm diameter pipeline by replacing it with a 900 mm diameter pipeline.

The proposed water cut will be in effect from 10 am on April 23 to 10 am on April 24.

“The pipelines are being replaced to improve the water flow. During the operation, the pipeline will be shut for supply to prevent wastage of water,” an official said. The BMC has appealed to citizens to use water cautiously.
